For an efficient and safe machine operation, the machine has to “understand” the operator and the operator has to “understand” the machine (NASA 1996). Therefore, a good user interface (or driver dashboard) shall be intuitive to understand.

We design user interfaces in accordance to these (old, but often forgotten) NASA rules using most modern technology. We regard it essential that our designers have a good understanding for the machine by accompanying operation or, if possible, getting experience in operating the machine by themselves.

All our user interfaces are network based and can be accessed and used on board of the machine or remotely for teleoperation. This is an essential precondition for remote supervision and autonomy.

For the HMI design we cooperate with professionals from aviation where quick and safe decision making is essential for safe operation.
